Nov. 3 - Ridgedale

November 3 - Mariners at Ridgedale
Our first meet of the season went very well with many good
swims. The beginning was a little chaotic as the coaches
struggled to adjust to the change of having to add heat and lane
assignments to each swimmers arm. Once warm-ups were done
and the meet begin all seemed to settle into a rhythm. We had
12 swimmers who were competing in their first YMCA meet.
Everyone made it their events.
Most memorable coaching moment: The coach congratulated one
swimmer on a great swim showing a huge improvement. The
swimmer commented back to the coach : I guess all that yelling
you have been doing to point my toes and kick finally paid off
huh".
The Mariners displayed very good sportsmanship by
cheering on their teammates and competitors, by staying in the
water until all had finished and congratulating competitors.
