Timer: Time swimmers with a stop watch for each event on your assigned lane.
Record times on the swimmers cards. We need a minimum of 10 volunteers per
shift for this position.
Runner: Collect entry/time cards from timers and deliver to meet manager after
each event.
Age Group Coordinators: Make sure that swimmers in the assigned age
group are in place at the Clerk of Course in time. This includes individual events
and relays for that age group. There are multiple people in this position, divided
by age group and gender. For example: one might sign up to be the 8 and
under girls coordinator. You would make sure the 8 and under girls get to their
assigned events and help with that relay.
Ribbons: Sort and assemble place ribbons by team. This position is not on
deck.
Concessions: Sell food and beverages in the Concession Stand. This position
is not on deck. Need two to three individuals per shift.
Clerk of Course: Hand out entry/time cards, keep swimmers in proper order.
This position requires organization and accuracy. Two people helpful in this
position and will work the whole meet.
Starter: Starts each of the events. Will work the entire meet.
Head Timer: Provides a "back-up" time for the timers. Traditionally works the
entire meet.
Stroke and Turn Judge (Official): This position is a certified position
(requires attending a certification class). Ultimately we should have five on deck
for a meet. If interested see Coach Shelly or talk to Shane ASAP.
Crash Area Supervisor: Watch the crash area and announce events being
called to the pool.
Meet Manager: Data entry of event times, correcting changed in the meet
computer, creation of entry cards, and communication liaison between officials
and coach. This position is not on the pool deck.
